And this index reveals that Mumbaikars like to take intercity trips to Lonavala during the weekend and Bangaloreans to Nandi Hills.
Uber Releases Its 2022 Index About Popular Destinations In India For Intercity Trips
In 2022, Uber witnessed the highest number of Intercity trips booked on Saturdays. This was followed by Sunday. So, this means that Saturday is the most preferred day of the week to hit the roads and go for a quick getaway. Mumbaikars booked the most intercity trips on Uber to Lonavala, Pune and Alibaug. When it comes to Bangaloreans, they loved catching the sunrise and sunsets at Nandi hills, spotting animals at Bannerghatta Biological Park and basking in the royal feels in Mysore.
Delhiites hitched rides to Meerut, Rewari and Sonipat during the weekends. Chennaites preferred travelling to Puducherry, Vellore and Thiruvallur. Folks in Ahmedabad travelled to Vadodara, Anand and Kheda. The main reason people went on intercity trips in the first place was for leisure trips and family visits. The second most popular reason was business purposes. This was followed by religious visits and school or college trips.
Saturday Most Preferred Day For Weekend Getaways
The highest number of Intercity trips were booked in the months of April, May, June, October and December. Saturday was the most preferred day for getaways in 2022, followed by Sunday and Friday. Weekends mean travel right! With Uber’s Intercity trips, travellers can book their rides even a month in advance. So, apart from spontaneous trips, travel junkies could always make space for planned travel. Now available across 2000 routes, you can also go on a fun getaway and explore a new destination in style.
