Mussoorie is known as the “Queen of hills,” a hill station that offers the most picturesque views and a soothing climate. The winters here are simply magical, and what adds to the magic is the Winterline Carnival. Every year in the last week of December, Mussoorie celebrates the winterline phenomenon in the grandest and fun manner.
When, due to the refraction of light, a false horizon is formed at dusk, it is known as the “winterline phenomenon.” Only a few mountainous regions, like the Himalayan region and some areas in Switzerland, are blessed with this view. The carnival is going to make a grand comeback after a hiatus of two years owing to the pandemic.
