Nepal, which is known for its mighty Mt.Everest, Annapurna and several other mountain ranges, is all set to reopen the country for some international destinations. Nepal was close for a while amid the covid scare- however, the nation has decided to resume its flights. Read on to know more about it.

Nepal To Resume International Operations With South Korea, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, And Japan
The government of Nepal, in a cabinet meeting, has confirmed that it is going to permit international flights to South Korea, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Japan. Whereas for domestic flights, some domestic flights will be partially resumed as well. Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, plans to ease the restrictions but has extended the lockdown for a week. The country is seeing a decline in the Covid-19 cases, and hence it is slowly opening to tourism again. Moreover, it has also restarted its flights to India, China, Qatar, and Turkey, while increasing flight frequencies to Turkey and Qatar.

Some Domestic Flights Will Resume Too
According to Nepal’s Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Buddhisagar Lamichhane, “Possibly, international flights to new destinations will be allowed later this week or early next week.”

The nation had suspended its domestic flights in May and has now decided to function only under set criteria. As per the criteria, only half of the total domestic flights will be allowed to operate. Nepal has also allowed flights to China’s Chengdu and Guangzhou twice a week. However, this will only be confirmed after a talk with China.
