The new wave of COVID cases has forced states across India to re-impose restrictions on travel, gathering and more. Night curfew has been imposed in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and more to contain the virus spread. Railways Urges Passengers To Follow Guidelines Issued By Several States
Indian Railways has been running special trains to transport people to several parts of the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It has also been carrying out thermal screening of passengers on these trains. Railways has also put up campaigns to spread awareness against COVID-19. RT-PCR Report Mandatory In A Few States
For example, Rajasthan and Gujarat have mandated RT-PCR negative reports for entry to the state. One should take the test 72 hours before arrival in the states. Tamil Nadu has mandated e-registration for all train passengers except those coming from Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. According to orders dated April 3, 2021, by the Government of Assam, all passengers arriving in trains originating from or transiting through Maharashtra and/or Karnataka will have to undergo screening for symptoms on arrival at the railway stations. Symptomatic passengers will have to undergo a COVID-19 test. If the report comes as virus-positive, the person will be sent to home isolation or hospital, as per treatment protocol.
As per an order dated April 2, 2021, it is mandatory for people entering Meghalaya from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh and Gujarat to carry negative RT-PCR test reports.
