Agoda, a renowned digital travel platform, revealed the surge in searches for travelling in different parts of India during Diwali festivities. According to Agoda’s report, the most searched Indian city during the grand festival is New Delhi among international travellers. Overseas visitors also show a keen interest in exploring Goa and Mumbai as these two scenic destinations clinch the second and third spot respectively.

The most in-demand destinations for Diwali among these travellers are:

The digital travel platform revealed Goa has become the topmost favourite place among domestic tourists. Based on searches for domestic travel, these picturesque destinations attract significant interest among domestic travellers this Diwali.

With a spike in travel enthusiasts expressing love to explore India, the domestic travel sector reported a 23 per cent increase in accommodation searches. In comparison to 2023, this Diwali recorded a 17 per cent jump in search for stays.

Krishna Rathi, Senior Country Director India Subcontinent and MEA, Agoda, shared that New Delhi and Goa leading as favourite destinations for Diwali comes as no surprise. “Both destinations have a lot to offer in terms of culture and exploration, especially at this festive time,” she said.
