What’s In It?

Tashi Dorje and Vikas Kumar are two youths in Manali who have been promoting igloo tourism near the Hamta Pass at Sainthen village for the past three years. In fact, both these men came up with the concept of experiencing a stay in an igloo or snow cave back in 2017. Vikas Kumar stated to a reputed new agency that the wintertime when temperatures drop down drastically is a suitable time for giving shape to an igloo. As the temperatures rise, the structure melts rapidly.

Vikas Kumar further threw light on the igloo accommodation. Where he informed that there is an arrangement for bedding so tourists can stay at night. A warm bedding system and hot water bottles are present to maintain the warmth inside. However,  the use of bonfire or electric heaters inside the igloo is prohibited. The igloos are decorated beautifully with night light with power supplied through power generators. The rates for these igloos range from ₹5000 per person to ₹10,000 per couple per night. Snow activities along with breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided to the guests.
