New Supersonic Jet Is Set To Take Travellers From London To New York Within An Hour

New York and London are two tourist destinations that one can never get bored of. Now imagine, what if you get a chance to travel from London to New York in less than an hour? Sound’s quite dreamy, right? Well, this dream is soon going to be a reality. Aerion Supersonic is creating a new supersonic jet that will transport passengers from London to New York in less than an hour.

Supersonic Jet Will Be Able To Transport 50 Passengers In One Go

Reaching speeds of 4,828 kilometres per hour, the new supersonic jet will launch before the end of the decade. It will have the ability to transport 50 passengers in one go. Aerion aims to make air travel exciting, enjoyable, efficient and luxurious for passengers. And while doing so, the company is making a point to stop climate change.

The company’s AS2 supersonic aircraft, a precursor to the AS3, is designed to be the first certified aircraft to run on 100 per cent engineered carbon-captured synthetic fuels, essentially extracting carbon dioxide from the air. The production of the AS2 jet will commence from 2023, and by 2025, we will have the first flight-ready. In fact, NetJets- a company that owns the world’s largest fleet of business jets, has already placed a purchase order of 20 AS2s.

We Can Expect the First Flight By 2025

The company has already started developing the 44.5-hectare Aerion Park in Melbourne, Florida, where the AS2 and AS3 will be produced. On this, Aerion’s chairman, president and chief executive, Tom Vice, said,

“At Aerion, our vision is to build a future where humanity can travel between any two points on our planet within three hours. Supersonic flight is the starting point, but it is just that – the beginning. We are building more than the aeroplane of tomorrow – we are building the global transportation networks of the future and we will seek the smartest, most creative and collaborative minds to join our team and our journey to tackle the toughest mobility challenges of the future.”

Well, we certainly can’t wait for this supersonic jet, what about you?
