Shillong nestles in the hills of Meghalaya. Of late, it has turned into a major tourist destination. And, people from across the world flock to this part of the Northeastern state to explore the scenic beauty of Shillong. People usually fly to Guwahati in Assam, and then, take a ride to Shillong. Here, they book the local taxi services and then, travel in and around the state. But, some face a little difficulty with travel, especially within the city in the absence of Uber and Ola services. How To Travel Within The Shillong City?

The bus services are not very great within the city, except for the local buses. For the mainlanders, it might be a little tricky to catch hold of the bus at the right time. The public buses are usually super full, so you might have a little issue there. On the other hand, to travel in Shillong, another great way is to take the local taxis. The local taxis are the most preferred form of transport among the locals. So, try to stick to the local taxis to travel around the city. No, you will not find any Ola or Uber services, so you have to stick to them. However, if you’re lucky and a solo traveller, you might find Rapido bikes.
