Nutritionist Jinal Shah is a team member of Rujuta Diwekar. In a special Diwali series, she shared some useful tips for everyone going to parties and spending late nights partying and eating oily food. It is important to eat healthy and get proper sleep to boost our immune system and keep ourselves active as well. Here are 4 tips to keep all these celebrations easy on your system.
1. Have A Proper Meal
We often tend to not eat a proper lunch or a full meal if we have plans to go out at night and enjoy food outside. The nutritionist suggests that we should be following our lunch normally as it can help us to not overeat at the Diwali party at night.
2. Eat Something Prepared Using Curd
Another effective tip that she recommends is to eat some food before leaving home and going to the party. Some of her suggestions are curd rice and curd poha. These are healthy, good prebiotic combinations, and keep our gut and digestive system proper as well. In fact, this is an amazing tip to avoid any acidity or bloating.
3. Choose Food Items Properly
Diwali parties have a huge spread of delectable dishes to choose from. We can take a look at all the dishes and choose only the ones that we love. Jinal Shah shares how we can take 1 appetiser, 2-3 main course items, and 1 dessert. Following this, we can take 3-4 dishes to the plate and relish everything. Also, ensure that to sit while eating the dishes. Avoid standing and eating the food.
4. Hydration Is SO IMPORTANT
Make sure to not stay dehydrated at all. We usually eat a lot of oily food at this time. This can be a major reason behind dehydration. She suggests we drink a glass of water before having a meal. During the late-night party, try to drink 2-3 glasses of water. After reaching home, make sure to drink another glass of water before crashing into bed.
