Palash Sen’s Songs Are Dedicated To…

While we walked the gullies of Delhi, our conversation with Palash Sen started at Jantar Mantar. Songs by Palash Sen frequently draw inspiration from unrequited love. His favourite subject to write about is the emotion of love. Kamiya shares that she loves every song he has ever sung, especially Maeri. It is a song that has touched a thousand souls. He says, “Yes, a song for the mother and for someone you lost.” Everyone has lost someone, which is what the singer likes to sing about.

When talking about his songs, he adds, “I romanticise unrequited love the most because I think that’s the only unconditional love—Jo mukammal na hua. Jo mukammal hogaya ussey shaadi kehte h.” After the funny remark on marriage, Palash Sen pleases us by singing the song Maeri. Talk about “chashni si uski baat”, right? Euphoria’s soul can be heard in every song the band has ever produced. The journey unquestionably began with Dhoom Pichak Dhoom, and everything that followed was an outgrowth of Dhoom.
