PM Modi To Visit Pune Today; Avoid These Roads If You Don’t Want To Be Stuck In Traffic

The Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, is slated to visit the city of Pune in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Ahead of his visit, the Pune Police conducted various security and traffic drills on the 31st of July, Monday. PM Modi’s visit to Pune means that many roads in the city will be blocked for civilians for safety reasons. Hence, if you’re in Pune and do not want to be stuck in traffic, here are some routes that you should avoid taking today.

Since PM Modi is set to visit Pune soon, it stands to reason that traffic is going to be a problem. Hence, unless you’re planning to spend the day stuck in traffic, here are some roads and junctions that you should avoid between 6 AM and 3 PM today:

  • Alka Chowk
  • Budhwar Chowk
  • Golf Club Chowk
  • Jedhe Chowk
  • Sancheti Chowk
  • Sadalbaba Chowk
  • SG Barve Chowk
  • Tilak Chowk
  • Pune University Square
  • Simla Office Square
  • Sevasadan Chowk

According to officials, the monsoon season can worsen traffic congestion. Hence, it is advised that Punekars should only leave their homes if extremely necessary. PM Modi will land at the Lohegaon airbase from where he will fly to a helipad. From there, he will reach the venues of the events by car.

Metro Inauguration And Lokmanya Tilak Award

PM Modi has quite a lot on his plate when he comes to Pune. In addition to inaugurating various developmental projects, PM Modi will also inaugurate metro train services in Pune.

He is also said to receive the Lokmanya Tilak National Award. This award is conferred every year on the 1st of August, which is the death anniversary of this Indian freedom fighter. The award is conferred to people who work towards the development of the nation.

At the event, the PM will also share the stage with Sharad Pawar, the president and leader of the Nationalist Congress Party. Sharad Pawar is also the chief guest at the event.
