The moment anyone says Roberto Cavalli, people are reminded of classy animal prints and of course, the well-known fashion designer. And on April 12, the Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli was announced dead at the age of 83 by his company. This was quoted by Italian news agency ANSA and it was reported that the famous Italian designer died in his home in Florence after a long battle with an illness.

Roberto Cavalli earned a massive name for himself through his unique designs. As he set up his company in the 1970s, his designs took the world by storm! Yes, in fact, they were even worn by celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, and Brigitte Bardot, to name some. Moreover the creative Italian designer who was famous for his animal prints on leather and textiles was announced dead at the age of 83 by his company on April 12, Thursday. This was announced through a press release by the fashion house on Instagram. However, no details have been provided. The statement concluded with the mention of his legacy living through his creativity.

He Was Known For Inventive Leather Printing

In case you’re not aware, Roberto Cavalli was born on November 15, 1940, in Florence. Known for his leather prints, he launched his namesake brand in 1970. After this, he invented and patented an innovative leader printing process! In fact, the designer was also well known for his hippie dresses, patchwork designs on denim, and sandblaster jeans. However, the designer’s life was not without his share of ups and downs. After a trial that lasted for years in Italy on tax evasion charges, he was acquitted but his fashion house began posting losses. As a result, a major stake was sold in 2015 to private equity.

But, it’s worth mentioning that the designer has still made a mark for himself in the industry creating groundbreaking designs that are adored by people even today. From signature styles to inventive leather printing, Roberto Cavalli is bound to be remembered through his designs.
