Robots Have Become Chaiwallas. Automated Machine Brews 500 Cups Of Chai Per Day

Same recipe and the same ingredients, chai served by our local chaiwalla, no matter how good it tastes, never tastes the same. That’s the beauty of it, perhaps. With technology seeping into the food industry, the chai you order from a cloud kitchen will always taste the same. Why? Well, not humans, but robots have become chaiwallas. Confused? Read on to know more.

Robots Brew Chai At Bengaluru’s Chai Point

According to a report by Moneycontrol, Bengaluru-headquartered Chai Point has robots preparing chai instead of humans. The tea chain has Android-based automated machines which brew 500 cups of chai per day. With 5000 machines installed across 19 cities in India, you can imagine the standardised cups of tea, Chai Point serves at its brick-and-mortar outlets and cloud kitchens.

The co-founder and CEO of Chai Point, Amuleek Singh Bijral revealed to Moneycontrol that to brew chai, all they need to do is load the automated machine with the required ingredients. Hiring robots instead of chaiwallas, helps the tea chain to expand and maintain its quality, making way for standardisation.

Cloud Kitchens Also Hire Robots To Prepare Biryani & Other Dishes

Not just chai, even biryani ordered from cloud kitchens like Dunkel Kitchen in Bengaluru is prepared by robots. Dunkel Kitchen owner Karthikeyan Selvaraj invested in a ₹2.5 lakh automated machine which can whip up biryani and other dishes in no time. These machines solve the problem of human labour often quitting jobs and moving out, which causes a quality dip in the food.

Well, what do you think about sipping chai or eating biryani made by a robot? Yay or Nay?
