Sachin Tendulkar Used To Receive Daily Allowance For Playing Cricket Before Earning In Lakhs
Ever wondered how much Sachin earned through cricket games at the beginning of his career? Well, we got you! Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, questioned him about his first salary and he revealed that during the initial stages of cricket, it was more of a daily allowance than a salary. He received a mere ₹30 to 40 daily for playing under-15, under-17, and under-19 cricket matches.
Next, he revealed that his first proper earning was from a cricket tournament in Pakistan and he got ₹50,000. Next, he talked about multiple cricket matches played in Australia for a span of two to three months. For that, he got paid ₹1L and this was back in 1991 and 1992. This paycheck was a memorable one for him!

This Mantra Was Followed For His Bank Account And Score Book Account
Continuing on the topic of salaries and paychecks, Sachin mentioned that his parents had a strict mantra for him about his numbers, both in terms of runs and money. He said, “Scorebook mein joh right side ka account hai; that is more important than the bank account.” He emphasised that bank balances are not important but the balance in the scorebook is the most prominent thing.
That is quite a good mantra set by his parents. He also disclosed the reason behind it. He shared that when you do your best for your cricket team and have a great scoreboard, along with making India proud, “your bank balance will take care of itself.”
