And now, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affair Dubai has approved a master plan for Saih Al Salam Scenic Route. Featuring a development of five service and recreational stations that will offer an exceptional tourist experience, here’s everything you need to know about this upcoming project in Dubai.

Making sure that the tourists and residents have a great experience, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum recently approved the Saih Al Salam Scenic Route. This project aims to develop the rural areas and countryside of Dubai between the period of 2024 to 2028. As it happens, the portfolio includes 37 projects and initiatives, all of which are estimated to cost about AED390 million. As it happens, Sheikh Hamdan revealed that this master plan reflects the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Ruler of Dubai and the Vice President of the UAE.
What Does The Plan Include?
The master plan for the scenic route includes the development of five tourist stations. With the construction of 97.86 km of tracks, it’s bound to increase the total track length in the area to a whopping 156.61 km. Additionally, there will be development of a bunch of facilities and several activities and events will be organised that will be aimed at increasing the number of tourists who will be visiting the area.
A Look At All The Recreational Stations
1. Main Hub Station
This will be near Al Qudra Lakes, and it will include the development of a traditional market. It will feature several shops selling local products that are typical of the rural areas and even an open-air cinema near the Last Exit. As evident from the name, here people can movies in a natural setting. In fact, the station will also feature luxury marquees. As a result, it will allow visitors to camp in the heart of the desert near activity sites along the lakes. Additionally, there will also be the development of public facilities! Yes, and it will be able to accommodate a large number of visitors thereby providing necessary services.
2. Wildlife Station
This one will be located near Flamingo Lake and will also feature several facilities and activities. It includes hot air balloons and luxury camps along with elevated walking trails. Not to mention, kayak tours will also be offered across the three lakes.
3. Adventure Station
The next one will be located near Expo 2020 Lake. This station will include Adventure Park, which will be near the Oryx platform and even have a walking and fitness trail. There will also be a sandy trail for cycling and walking that will be added around the Expo Lake, besides the budget camps and restaurants.
4. Cultural Experience Station
The next station will be located near the Camel Farm in Al Marmoom. It will offer a traditional majlis and an entertainment theatre at the Camel Farm. Here, the visitors can ride camels, explore deserts, and traditional meals.

5. Desert Adventure Station
This station is going to include a fully integrated area for adventure and desert sports. It will let visitors to enjoy a bunch of outdoor activities, like dune bashing, desert cycling, desert safari tours, sandboarding, and dune climbing.

According to the master plan, there will be 18 new services in the first phase that will be included for the residents of the area. The services will include seven parks and open spaces, three nurseries, and even three healthcare facilities. Not to mention, that government services will also be made available in the form of civil defence and ambulance services. Not to mention, three social services catering to the residents and visitors across halls, majlis, and community centres will also be there.
Plans For Mass Transportation
In fact, there will also be a rural service centre, a sociocultural centre at Lahbab. Not to mention, there will be a majlis, public library, centres for teaching traditional arts, an art exhibition hall, and centres for teaching Bedouin Craft. The majlis will be built in Al Awir and the healthcare facilities will be located at Lahbab 2 and Al Lisaili. Not to mention, there will also be an ambulance station in Margham and a civil defence centre in Lahbab 1.
Talking about three nurseries, they will be built in Al Awir 2, Lahbab, and Al Lisaili. There are also plans for mass transportation solutions. This will be serving the rural areas along with there being traffic improvements in Lahbab, Al Awir, and Al Lisaili. In fact, the first recreational tourist route is also currently underway along with the relocation of waste transfer stations in Lahbab 1.
With the mass plan focusing on everything from the efficiency of public services to the development of public parks, one can certainly be sure that it’s going to be quite a development.
