The mystical land of AlUla has captivated a lot of tourists and it continues to do the same. Apart from the cultural & heritage value this destination provides, AlUla in Saudi is planning to construct more travel-related infrastructure for nomads planning to take a direct trip. A leading consulting firm has been awarded the contract to build a private aircraft terminal in AlUla. Let’s read more about it.

Which Company Was Awarded The Contract?

Egis is a participant in this enormous cultural and tourist programme, which seeks to become AlUla the most popular tourist attraction in Saudi Arabia. And now Saudi Arabia’s Royal Commission has awarded Egis with a contract to construct a private aircraft terminal in AlUla.

According to a press release from Egis, RCU has given it the go-ahead to work on a number of projects pertaining to the growth of the private aircraft terminal. The project takes the name as a fixed-based operator or FBO, at AlUla’s International Airport.

The two parts of the scope of work are the development of a new, specifically designed FBO Terminal building and the enlargement of the current hangar to add sufficient storage spaces, operation, and maintenance space.

The architectural design & engineering package for detailed design, airside design and infrastructure and landscaping design, airfield geometry and master planning, gradings, airfield lighting, markings, and signage, construction and turnover support services, airport operation support services will all be part of this deliverables by Egis.

Establishing AlUla as a top global tourist gateway for heritage, tradition, culture, and ecotourism is crucial. RCU’s AlUla International Airport and its expansion will fall within the company’s overall plan. This would in turn help to meet its strategic objective of increasing yearly visitor numbers to more than two million by 2035.

The travellers would then cut the chase of catching flights to the capital and travelling by road to AlUla.
