In recent times, Saudi Arabia has emerged as a beacon for Umrah pilgrims from across the globe. The kingdom’s captivating appeal has sparked a surge in the number of devotees embarking on their spiritual journeys. This surge in Umrah pilgrims represents a significant development. It highlights the nation’s dedication to welcoming and accommodating the pilgrims. Here are some key factors that are making Saudi a magnet for an ever-increasing number of faithful travellers.
Easy Visa Process Attracts Global Umrah Pilgrims
Saudi Arabia has witnessed a surge in international Umrah pilgrims this season. The credit goes to easier visa procedures and expanded mosque capacity. This surge is attributed to various factors, including increased convenience and enhanced travel experience. Pilgrims from several countries, notably Pakistan, Indonesia, India, Iraq, Yemen, and Bangladesh, have flocked to Saudi Arabia this season. The Saudi government’s efforts to facilitate global travel have contributed to this increase. The plan includes improved communication with service providers and visa acquisition via the Nasik platform.
Additionally, expats residing in Gulf Cooperation Council countries can now apply for tourist visas and perform Umrah, regardless of their profession. Saudi Arabia has also expanded its visit e-visa system to include eight more countries, allowing their nationals to come for Umrah and tourism.

Enhanced Travel Experience
Saudi Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Abdulfatah Mashat anticipates a further rise in Umrah pilgrim numbers worldwide. This growth is expected due to enhanced visa procedures, improved communication with service providers, and the increasing number of companies offering Umrah services.
In recent months, Saudi Arabia has introduced several amenities for overseas Muslims interested in performing Umrah. Various entry visas, including personal, visit, and tourist visas, now permit Umrah and visits to Al Rawda Al Sharifa after booking an e-appointment. Saudi authorities have extended the Umrah visa duration from 30 to 90 days, enabling pilgrims to enter and exit the kingdom via all transportation modes. Furthermore, female pilgrims no longer need male guardians to accompany them.
With these advancements, Saudi Arabia will continue attracting international Umrah pilgrims in significant numbers this season and beyond.
