Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Is Now The Prime Minister Of Saudi Arabia; Sheikh Hamdan Congratulates Him

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, withholds the title of the country’s prime minister. This designation’s approval came from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The King delegated his previous duties to Prince Mohammed bin Salman, including representing the monarchy at international events and serving as the summit’s head.

The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, congratulated the Saudi Crown Prince on becoming the Prime Minister of the Kingdom. He wished King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud prosperity and further advancement for the Saudi Crown Prince and the Kingdom.

His Majesty Mohammed bin Salman also received a similar message from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates. Greetings were led by the president, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Influence Of Crown Prince Of Saudi Kingdom

Since coming to power in 2017, Prince Mohammed has made significant changes to Saudi Arabia. The reforms included allowing women to drive, reducing the influence of the clerics over society, and leading attempts to expand the economy beyond dependence on oil.

But along with his reforms came a harsh onslaught of criticism. It resulted in the imprisonment of activists, royals, women’s rights advocates, and businesses.

The cabinet meetings that King Salman attends, will continue to be led by him. It follows the Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s proclamation upgrading Khalid bin Salman to the position of Minister of Defense. The royal decree further states assigning Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan to the position of Minister of Education. Assistant defence minister Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi will take over.
