1. Mechuka

Mechuka is one of the most beautiful villages in this Northeastern state. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and the lush greenery of Pine trees and thorn bushes, every nook and corner of Mechuka sparks serenity and tranquility. Nestled along the banks of the Yargyapchu River, the views are absolutely breathtaking. The 400-year-old Buddhist monastery is one of the biggest attractions here.

How to reach: The only way to reach this stunning village in Arunachal Pradesh is to rely on road transportation. From the nearest Dibrugarh airport, ride in a car and cover around 440 km to reach Mechuka.

Best time to visit: From post-monsoons to early summer (October to March)

2. Pasighat

Found in 1911, Pasighat is one of the oldest towns in Arunachal Pradesh. The location is known for its rich culture, history, and tradition, making it a favourite of tourists. And for adventure junkies, there are several places to indulge in activities such as boating, fishing, rafting, trekking, and wildlife safari.

How to reach: There are a few options for reaching Pasighat by road. You can travel on NH515 from Dibrugarh and on NH590 from Guwahati. To reach here from Itanagar, NH15 and NH515 are the roads to take.

Best time to visit: Winters to summer (January to May)

3. Ziro Valley

One of the most popular destinations in the Northeastern state, Ziro valley is a charismatic location and home to the Apatani tribe. Apart from the scenic surroundings, quaint hamlets, and magnificent mountains, the best part of Ziro valley is the welcoming locals. The landscapes surrounding Ziro are perfect to unwind and rejuvenate!

How to reach: Either take the night bus from Guwahati to reach Ziro or travel to Naharalagun railway station for rail connectivity. And for flights, book tickets to Jorhat airport.

Best time to visit: Early summers to early winters (March to October)

4. Sela Pass

6. Roing

How to reach: To travel by road, you can drive from any city in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. For railways, you need to travel to Tinsukia Railway Station. And for flights, Dibrugarh Airport is the nearest to Roing.

7. Along

Also known as Aalo, Along needs to be on your bucket list while travelling to Arunachal Pradesh. Along is also famous for its rich culture and archaeological excavations.

How to reach: The easiest way to travel Along is using railway services. Travel to the Guwahati Railway station and then travel to Naharlagun Railway station.
