Arunachal Pradesh is going to inaugurate and operate its first-ever airport very soon in the month of August. People travelling to and from this Northeastern state have to travel from the Lillabari airport and Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Assam and then take detours to reach Arunachal Pradesh. Soon passengers can fly from the brand new ‘Hollongi Airport’. This is amazing news for people flying here as it was really a struggle to cover a large distance to reach the airport. The journey was tiring and time-consuming.

Hollongi Airport Of Arunachal Pradesh Opens Its Doors In August

Itanagar is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh and Hollongi Airport is nestled about 15 km from Itanagar. This airport will start functioning on Independence day, 15 August 2022. From this day, passengers will not need to travel a long journey to the nearest airports in different states from Arunachal Pradesh. Passengers will be able to board flights from this greenfield airport shortly.

All You Need To Know About The Hollongi Airport

  • This is a greenfield airport and it is well-equipped with every necessary amenities and many modern technologies.
  • There are 8 check-in counters overall inside the airport.
  • The runway is 2,300 metres.
  • The runway here is appropriate for the Boeing 747 aircraft to land and take off.
  • Hollongi Airport has the capacity to take in a maximum of 200 passengers during the time of rush.
