All About Sealdah-New Delhi Vande Bharat Sleeper Train

In September 2024, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw first unveiled the Vande Bharat Sleeper train. With more amenities, advanced safety measures, and comfortable sleeping berths, this upcoming train is one of the much-awaited railway projects. The Sealdah-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express is one of the key routes for this train service.

Connecting the Kolkata metropolitan area to New Delhi, the upcoming Vande Bharat Sleeper train will cover a distance of 1,455 km in just 15 hours. According to ET Now, the Sealdah-New Delhi Vande Bharat Sleeper train is designed to run at a speed of 160 kmph. It will be the fastest train on this route, followed by premium trains like Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express.

Route And Timings Of The Train

The Sealdah-New Delhi Vande Bharat Sleeper train will stop at the following major station on the route –

Asansol Junction
Dhanbad Junction
Gaya Junction
DD Upadhyaya Junction
Kanpur Central

As per reports, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train is expected to depart from Sealdah around 4 PM and reach New Delhi at 7 AM, the next day. On its return journey, the train will leave New Delhi at around 4 PM, and arrive in Sealdah the next day at 7 AM.

Coach Composition & Expected Train Fare

The Sealdah-New Delhi Vande Bharat Sleeper train will have 16 coaches, as per reports. It will have 11 AC 3-tier coaches, four AC 2-tier coaches, and one First Class AC coach. The expected train fare for the AC 3-tier coach could be around ₹3,200; for the AC 2-tier coach, it is expected to be around ₹4,200; and an AC First Class is expected to be around ₹5,300.
