UAE is hosting a list of winter events and we need to clear our calendar to visit them. As we were planning our schedule we came across a new winter event happening in Sharjah. In a grand unveiling, the Sharjah Police General Command proudly presented the fifth edition of the “Police Desert Park” on January 19, 2024, from 4 pm to 10 pm, marking a significant annual initiative for the community.

Nestled in the Al Kaheef area of Al Bataah in Sharjah, the event, themed “Together… Time is More Beautiful,” reflects the commitment to the well-being of police force members, their families, and the broader community. This annual gathering serves as a platform to foster a sense of togetherness and strengthen community bonds.
Facilities For All
The sprawling landscape of the park encompasses various facilities designed to cater to diverse interests. A purpose-built theatre takes centre stage, ready to host a myriad of security and community events. Those seeking a glimpse into the rich heritage can explore themed areas like the heritage village, entertainment village, and sand courts corner. Meanwhile, the restaurant corner beckons, offering designated spaces for barbecues, making it a delightful spot for culinary exploration. An essential addition to the park is the prayer hall, with a remarkable capacity of up to 100 people.

Adding a unique historical touch to the park is the prayer hall, constructed in a distinctive architectural style. What makes this structure particularly noteworthy is its construction using recycled materials by inmates at the Correctional and Punitive Institution of Sharjah Police. This integration of historical architectural elements and sustainable practices encapsulates the essence of the initiative.
