The concept of Zakat(donate) sits atop in Islam. Muslims have high faith in contributing to charitable causes for the needy every year. Similar to that, Dubai witnessed a charitable campaign announced by the Ruler. His Majesty Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum established the One Billion Meals initiative to provide food supplies to 50 nations’. The relief goes towards the most disadvantaged people of the countries. The 1 Billion Meals initiative had collected 76 million meals within just six days and now the 1 bilion meals initiative is accomplished. The ruler has also personally donated AED 400 million.

One Billion Meals Will Empower The Poor During Ramadan

The One Billion Meals programme aims to deliver sustainable food aid to underprivileged communities. This is a part of the UAE’s contributions to global initiatives done through a unified food system. During the holy month of Ramadan last year, this initiative began. This year’s distribution will continue until all contributed meals reach the needy.
