Last year, Nari & Kāge by Kathrina Salam and Benjamin Armel launched in Bangalore. It is tucked away in the heart of Koramangala and as soon as you enter you will be grateful to yourself. The cheese puns are not going to stop today, you have to brie with us!

The founders, Salam and Armel are cheese aficionados who began this cheesy journey by experimenting during the pandemic lockdown. With time, they perfected the art of cheese making and became self-taught cheesemakers. So, this cute artisanal shop showcases the city with some real and delicious cheese from all over the world under one roof.

Nari & Kāge have constructed Kempe Knolle, a kind of Swiss cheese Belper Knolle, in honour of the iconic founder of Bangalore, Kempe Gowda I. Even the space is inviting with little details and aesthetic decor of white with wood and cute benches all around.

Nari & Kāge has an interesting story behind its naming. Nari means woman in Hindi language but in the Kannada language, it means the fox and the crow simultaneously. In this manner, the founders showcase their homage to Aesop’s Fables by inspiring the name from ‘The Fox and The Crow’ by bringing cheese lovers to enjoy artisanal cheese at their shop.
