Numbeo, the world’s largest cost of living database, recently unveiled the list of Asia’s most expensive cities to live in. This ranking considers factors like costs of living, property prices, and more for cities around the world, and Singapore has secured the top spot on the list for Asia. Several Indian cities also made it to the list, so scroll on to know more about it.
Most Expensive City To Live In Asia & India
Numbeo is a crowd-sourced global database that collects data from contributors from around the world. It gathers data to evaluate the quality of life where contributors add statistics on housing, rent, salaries, transportation, healthcare, crime, and more about the countries/cities they live in. Their data is based on on-the-ground and localised citizens and not just researchers.
With a score of 81.6 on the Cost of Living Index, Singapore has topped its current cost of living chart in Asia. Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel secured the second place with a score of 78.4. While Hong Kong is placed in the third position with a score of 73.9.
The list features 83 Asian cities with 18 Indian cities securing places as well. In India, with a score of 25.3, Mumbai retained its spot as the most expensive city to live in. Following closely behind, with a score of 24.6, Gurgaon emerged as the second most expensive city. Here are all the Indian cities on the list, along with their rankings –
