Recently, Qiddiya unveiled the world’s first gaming and esports district. Located in Saudi Arabia, this destination will be home to the first mixed-use gaming and esports district that will be the epicentre of the dynamic sector. And now, just a few days later, it has announced another project, the development of Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium. The futuristic venue will feature a unique design and it’s going to be situated on a 200 m cliff.

Mohammad Bin Salman Stadium is going to be a futuristic venue that is going to be situated on top of the breathtaking Tuwaiq Mountains that stand atop Qiddiya City. With the help of immersive technologies, it will be able to provide a unique spectator experience that will blend live sports, entertainment, and broadcast!

It Will Feature The World’s First Retractable Roof, Wall & Pitch

One of the biggest highlights of this venue has to be the combined retractable roof, wall, and pitch! This is a big deal as it’s also going to be a first in the world. As it happens, it’s also going to have the largest LED wall. Additionally, this is also going to be the first stadium that is going to be situated on the edge of a cliff and it’s also going to be the most adaptable one at that. In fact, the stadium will be strategically integrated into the city as it will be in close proximity to a diverse array of retail, hotel offerings, and dining.

Coming to the location of the stadium, it will be located on the edge of the Tuwaiq Mountains. The main structure will be located on top of the cliff, which will overlook the beautiful landscape! Additionally, it has been designed by Populous, a global architectural firm. As this is going to be a climate-controlled venue, it will leverage an energy-efficient cooling system along with advanced recycling technology for producing cold air.

The New Stadium Will Have A Max Capacity Of 60,000

With 76,00,000 visitors per year, the stadium will boast a maximum capacity of 60,000 people. Not to mention, it’s going to allow people to experience sports in an entirely new way! As it happens, the new Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium will boast a 45,000 seating capacity and it’s certainly going to be a Saudi marvel that will be dedicated to entertainment, sports, and culture. At this point, it is worth mentioning that it will be spread across an area of 1,97,000 m² and the multipurpose location will be able to host a variety of events!

So, once this is complete, it will certainly be a sight to behold for spectators.
