Train journeys can be memorable for so many reasons. Be it the comfortable experiences, the scenic route along the distance, or unfortunately something miserable as well. Some passengers travelling on the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Vande Bharat Express train had a terrible experience recently when they came across stone pelters attacking the train and throwing stones at a windowpane. This horrible incident happened on November 26, 2023.
Vande Bharat Express Train Is Making Headlines For Stone Pelting AGAIN!

Some unidentified people targeted and attacked the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Vande Bharat Express (20835) yesterday by pelting stones. It was the Executive Class coach where passengers had this scary experience. A window glass of the express train was damaged after the sudden attack between Meramandali and Budhapank on the Dhenkanal-Angul Railway Section, according to a report by Money Control. Following the incident, the officials informed that the windowpane of the Vande Bharat Express train faced some damages.
The escorting staff of the on-duty Railway Protection Force reported the stone pelting incident. Later, the security wing of the East Coast Railway zone notified the Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force about the same. An Assistant Security Commissioner of the Railway Protection Force visited the place right after being alerted following the unexpected target. The Assistant Security Commissioner who rushed to the spot is from Cuttack.
The local police also got information about the stone attack on the express train’s windowpane. The local police and security wing of the East Coast Railway zone are working together and investigating the matter to find out the stone pelters responsible for the attack on the Vande Bharat Express train. In a statement released recently, the railways stated how concerned authorities will take strict action against these people.

Stone Pelters Did All These Previously As Well

The scary stone pelting on the Executive Class coach of the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Vande Bharat Express on Sunday is unfortunately not the first one that we heard about. Ever since these express trains began providing services to different cities and states of India, authorities came across news and complaints of culprits pelting stones directly on the train. There have been similar incidents in regions of West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and more Indian states. Such instances are surely very scary for passengers on the train but the only positive news is that no passengers got harmed or injured due to these damages by miscreants.
Indian Railways are taking some significant steps for passengers and attempting to bring control of all such mishaps. Authorities educate common people, especially people living close to rail tracks, with several campaigns and awareness programs and make them understand the harsh consequences of such actions. With these sessions and programs, Railways make the people understand how stone pelting can be severely dangerous and how such things can be a major hazard to everyone.

But Why?

All such campaigns do not really raise awareness among all people as we often hear about such complaints of stone pelting. But why are people even going beyond the extent and conducting all such unnecessary crimes and damaging property? Why do they even damage public property when these are built for the betterment of the public? No matter why they throw stones at trains, is it even a solution to their issues? Instead, people inside might get hurt.
