Over the past few months, an Odisha businessman donned a gold face mask worth ₹3.5 lakhs. A man from Tamil Nadu made masks using gold threads. And a jeweller from Surat made diamond studded masks worth over ₹4 lakhs. Gold and diamond masks seem to be so last season. Now, the latest news is, a Surat sweet shop prepared a gold sweet costing ₹9000 per kg. It launched ‘Gold Ghari’ for its festive season and even claimed it has Ayurvedic benefits. Gold Ghari From Surat Sweet Shop Costs ₹9000 Per Kg

On the occasion of Chandi Padvo, a Gujarati festival to celebrate the full moon, people from Surat consume Ghari, a sweet and Bhusu, a savoury snack. Suratis devour food which are white in colour like milk poha, kheer or ghari. Ghari a dish comprising of maida, filled with mava, almonds, sugar and pistachios, fried in ghee and dipped in ghee fr a white coat, resembles the full moon. Chandi Padvo celebrations are incomplete without gorging on the lip-smacking Ghari. A Surat sweet shop, named 24 Carats Mithai Magic launched ‘Gold Ghari’ this year costing ₹9000 per kg.

24 Carats Mithai Magic introduced this sweet few days ahead of Chandi Padvo. The shop owner Rohan stated to Hindustan Times, “We have launched ‘gold ghari’ this year. It is healthy. Gold is considered a beneficial metal in Ayurveda. It has been three days since its launch. Demand is a little below expectation as market is sluggish. We hope it will get a good response in the coming days.”

Gold Sweets From Surat’s 24 Carats Mithai Magic Have Gold Leaf Coverings

Rohan added, “Gold ghari is available at  ₹9,000 per kg. The normal ghari is available at ₹660-820 per kg.” The sweet shop prepares their regular Ghari with flour, ghee and dates. Their gold sweets cost a whopping amount as they have a 24-karat gold leaf covering.
