Coronavirus has brought into focus the need to be vigilant about our health and hygiene at all times. All over the world, people are becoming conscious even when sneezing. Thus it is important that high levels of sanitation are maintained across the world. Therefore in times of need, we all look towards the heroes of our society. Unlike comic books, we do not have masked people flying around saving us. However, we have something close.

What’s More?

Neel Sagar, the founder of Alpha Drone Technology, the drone startup hired by the civic body mentions that these drones can carry up to 15 litres of disinfectants and fly up to 20 to 25 feet and are operational up to 7 hours a day.
Currently, tractors with 6000-7000 litres holding capacity are used with each drone containing 10 jetting machines and are extensively used to disinfect bus stands, markets, and other areas.

The BBMP is also spraying sodium hypochlorite solution and testing them in Central Bangalore as well as in areas where quarantined people reside. Major places like Town Hall circle, Hudson Circle are covered too. However, many areas are yet to be covered and the civic body is taking measures to disinfect these areas. But for now, we really laud this innovative measure taken to disinfect major areas of Bangalore, and we hope many more cities follow suit.
