Paragliding is one of the most sought-after adventure sports that tourists want to enjoy during a trip to Himachal Pradesh. However, even though it’s a fun-filled thrilling activity, it does not come without its share of risk. And this particularly turned out fatal for a 26-year-old tourist from Telangana. Yes, she died after falling on the roof of a house during a paragliding accident in Dhobhi Village.
Paragliding Accident In Manali
Dhobhi Village near Manali in the state of Himachal Pradesh is quite famous for paragliding. However, a 26-year-old tourist, Navya, fell to her death after she crashed on the roof of a house. In a report by the Times of India, it was repeated that the tourist was from Telangana. And she fell after her paragliding harness gave away mid-air. The fateful incident happened minutes after she took off in a tandem flight. At this point, it’s worth noting that the paragliding pilot has been arrested and a case has been registered against him.
A Probe Is Taking Place
While the paragliding activities have temporarily been stopped in Dhobhi, an enquiry has been ordered. This is being done to check if the pilot has all the pre-requisite documents. Not to mention, a probe is also taking place to check if the pilot took off from the approved paragliding site. However, this is not the first time that is happening at the site due to paragliding. A popular paragliding spot in Kullu, it has seen several crashes and deaths previously.
