Thailand Has A Luxury Quarantine Centre With Private Pools & Fancy Meals

Quarantining is a tough task, especially for the ones who do not love staying indoors. But visitors in Thailand can now have a dreamlike quarantine experience. 16 villas at The Senses Resort, Phuket have been prepared specially for quarantine guests. After being shut to visitors for nearly six months, Thailand is now reopening to a small number of tourists. The first group of tourists will arrive at the Phuket island in the coming weeks. The 300 tourists from China and Scandinavia first need to complete their mandatory 14-day quarantine following the strictest anti-coronavirus measures. The overall cost of confinement at The Senses can go as high as around ₹3,89,526 to ₹13,74,197 for a family of four. Phuket has reopened to tourists from October 1.

Quarantining By The Spectacular Patong Bay Of Phuket

The Senses Resort overlooks the mesmerising Patong Bay of Phuket. Visitors in this resort can stay amid a gorgeous infinity pool and enjoy gourmand meals, along with two temperature checks a day. The resort has prepared 16 villas for the quarantine guests. The resort authority has redesigned the villas, spread across nearly 2,400 square feet. They have done away with cushioned surfaces to make disinfecting easier.

Also, CCTV cameras have been installed at the entrances. The staff members have also learned at the hospital about spotting infections. They all will wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for serving meals in the rooms. The country is now offering a special tourist visa that will allow foreigners to stay for up to 90 days. However, the travellers have to mandatorily quarantine themselves for the first 14 days of their stay.

The Resort Will Have A ‘War Room’ Of Doctors And Security Guards

During their quarantine period, the visitors will complete two quarantine tests. A ‘war room’ of doctors and safety guards will supervise the guests’ activities. After finishing quarantine, visitors can travel freely in the country for three to nine months on the special visa. However, they will continue to be monitored through their mobile phones.

The Patong Bay of Phuket is a magical destination with crystal clear waters and rolling mountains. The sunrises and sunsets at the bay can be a feast of eyes for anybody. By staying at The Senses Resort, the guests will be able to soak in these experiences. However, their attempt to leave the room can bring the police in 15 minutes, according to the hotel’s deputy commercial director, Thanchanok Pramkull. An infected patient will be taken to the hospital within 30 minutes.

Phuket Govt. Has Approved Nine Properties For Quarantining Guests

According to Gulf News, one of the visitors planning to stay at The Senses said, “It is effectively a gilded cage.” Another tourist said, “It will be comfortable but I am afraid I might be anxious because of the confinement”. Suppachoke Laongphet, the hotel owner, stated, “We won’t make much profit from these special clients because of the expenses involved.”  Laongphet added, “We had to find other sources of income to support our staff and the local economy”. Laongphet’s resort is one of the nine properties in Phuket that the government has approved for quarantining guests. The overall cost of quarantining at The Senses can be around ₹3,89,526 to ₹13,74,197 for a family of four.
