When it comes to residents’ drinking habits throughout the summer, DrinkWell, the reduced-alcohol brand, has ranked the worst cities in each country. In a study, it was shown that more than a third (that is 38 per cent) of respondents admit to consuming two or more alcoholic beverages every day throughout the summer, potentially endangering their health.

For the average adult, health experts recommend 14 units per week. Nevertheless, two large glasses of wine each day quickly add up to 42 units per week. According to a surprising 80 per cent of 18 to 25-year-olds, the problem of daily drinking is greater in the summer.

In contrast, Bristol has emerged as the top city in the UK for after-work drinking. According to DrinkWell, 81 per cent of Bristol residents drink a beer or glass of wine per day. Given that 75 per cent of Londoners drink every day, the city also ranks highly on the list due to its post-5 pm bar culture. The third one on the list is Manchester with 74 per cent.
