Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is all set to get one of the largest locks in the world, which might even find a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records. A locksmith couple from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh built a massive 10-foot-tall lock that weighs 400 kg for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. This larger than life lock can only be opened with a key that weighs a whopping 30 kg. Read on to know more about this feat.

Locksmith Couple Build 400 Kg Lock With 30 Kg Key For Ram Mandir

65-year-old, Satyaprakash Sharma, a locksmith from Aligarh and his wife, Rukmani Sharma, took 6 long months to build a 400 kg lock dedicated to Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir. The lock boasting a height of 10 feet has an image of Lord Ram engraved on it, coasting ₹2 lakhs. This lock has a 6-inch thickness, 4 feet in width and is made of iron. The couple shall install a steel scrap seat to prevent the lock from rusting. They will build the lever, box and hood from brass.

They Wish To Build Another Massive Lock For Republic Day Parade

Two keys weighing 30 kg each have been made to open the 400 kg lock. The lock maker seeks more funds and government help to promote his unique art and add finishing touches to his creation. Satyaprakash Sharma revealed to Times Now that he also wants to create a giant lock tableau for the upcoming Republic Day parade, to showcase his clockmaking skills. HE plans to create a giant lock measuring 15 -feet in height, 8-feet width and thickness of 20 inches. The talented locksmith has written to both State and Central governments for the same.
