This Hole-In-The-Wall Biryani Joint In Dubai Is Inspired By Bollywood Star Salman Khan

Dubai loves its biryani and thankfully the city is blessed with a host of eateries that serve this delicacy. And now, CT Dubai has discovered yet another hidden gem, buried in the buzzing streets of Deira. Bhaijaan’s biryani, is a quaint little restaurant that serves lip-smacking biryanis in town. But, the highlight of the restaurant is not the biryani alone. As the name suggests, Bhaijaan’s biryani is a tribute to Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan! Read on to find out what it’s all about.

The Founders Started The Restaurant Out Of Love For The Actor

What extent would go to show your love for an actor? Well, Bhaijaan’s is anything but a regular restaurant. Born out of love for the Bollywood actor Salman Khan, the restaurant was opened by a group of ardent admirers. The owners of the Bollywood-themed restaurant are Pakistani expatriates and call themselves ‘diehard fans of Salman Khan or Sallu bhai’ as  is fondly called.

Founders of the restaurant- Omar Farooq, Aneel Jacob and Adeel qaiser Abbasi started the restaurant out of love- not just for the actor but also for Indian food. They wanted to dedicate a restaurant to Salman Khan, as well as bring to life their love for biryani. The owners also felt that India and Pakistan shared a lot of similarities in food, culture and cuisine and wanted their restaurant to be a symbol of friendship between Indians and Pakistanis.

In fact, the restaurant’s head chef is from India and many dishes on the menu are also inspired from India.

Everything SCREAMS Salman Khan At Bhaijaan’s Biryani

Located in the heart of Deira, a street away from the busy Union Metro station, this quirky restaurant is a treat for movie buffs and foodies alike. As soon as you enter Bhaijaan’s biryani, you feel welcomed by the star himself. The walls are adorned with the actor’s cutouts and famous dialogues from his movies.

The menu is all about Biryani. But, wait! The highlight here is the name of the biryani. If the restaurant is a tribute to Salman Khan,  one must also expect a menu that is inspired from the superstar’s films.

What’s On The Menu?

Some of the biryanis on the menu include Dabang Murg Biryani, Sultan Mutton Biryani, Bajrangi Veg Biryani, and the Wanted Chicken Biryani. Basically, the menu has chicken, mutton and vegetable biryanis-all named after Salman Khan’s films. And, there’s also a complimentary Gulab Jamun called the Katrina Gulab Jamun, that comes with the biryanis. In fact, the staff also have pseudo names of characters from Salman’s films. How cool is that!

The biryanis are made with fresh mutton, chicken and vegetables along with best long-grain rice mixed with their secret home-made recipe of masalas.

Biryani is a dish which is most-loved by Arabs and to make it more enjoyable, the restaurant serves a less spicy version on Fridays, for their Arab clientele. Besides all the fun and quirk, Bhaijaan’s Biryani also has a noble side. Job-seekers who can’t afford a meal at Bhaijaan’s can enjoy food for free.
