This Indie Café Went From 1 Store To 6 In A Year, Chelvies Is Just Getting Started

Chelvies Coffee is that rare blend of quality, community, and cool that actually feels homegrown. There’s no copy-paste franchise energy here, just damn good coffee, a killer food lineup, and that unspoken sensory overload that makes you feel like you belong.

Some cafés serve coffee. Chelvies Coffee? They serve culture in a cup. Walk into one of their moody, wood-accented spaces and you’ll spot a medley of creators working on laptops, couples whispering over tiramisu, and playlists that drift from indie to instrumental without missing a beat. It feels less like a café and more like the office of your dreams, serving damn good coffee.

Chelvies Coffee: Where Beans Meet Fries

Started in 2023 by Dhruv Singh and Chirag Dave (yes, the same Dhruv who once scaled the legendary Kake Di Hatti), Chelvies is built on no ordinary “coffee concept.” It’s the result of Singh’s post-pandemic epiphany during an Italy trip: why can’t India have spaces that respect coffee and not just sell it? Fast forward to 2024, and the flagship Chelvies landed right in Delhi’s Connaught Place by March. Not small or awkward, but actually ready to complete the vision and mission it was created for.

This isn’t one of those robotic coffee labs. Chelvies is warm. It lets you be. You can show up in flip-flops or loafers, sketching designs, writing your thesis, or in the company of someone who loves tiramisu more than you. There are open mic nights and WFH-friendly corners. They don’t try too hard but still hit all the right notes.

Coffee is their undoubted hero. They roast their own Arabica beans straight from Ratnagiri and Mandalkhan estates in Chikmagalur, then brew them with flair: pour-over, French press, siphon…And drumroll, your joy in a cup has been made. And the food here does not just accompany coffee; it enhances it. Let’s just say you’ll want to skip the boring brunch spots once you’ve had their Chelvies OMG Fries, Chipotle Crispy Burger, the smoky tandoori pasta, or that sinful baked New York-style cheesecake that somehow tastes better than it sounds.

Growing Fast, And Staying Rooted

Right now, there are six Chelvies Coffee outlets in Delhi NCR and Ahmedabad. Yes, it is already pleasing customers at Connaught Place, Noida, Punjabi Bagh, and two near IIM Ahmedabad. But don’t get too comfortable, because Chelvies is going places, literally! Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh are on the radar (and teased on their Instagram with just enough suspense to make fans lose it in the comments).
