This Job Applicant In NYC Delivered His Resume With A Pizza; Lands CEO’s Attention & An Interview

In a sea of job applicants, standing out can feel like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Each resume, and each cover letter, all vying for attention, hoping to catch the eye of a potential employer. It’s a challenge that many face and few conquer. But every now and then, someone comes along with a brilliant idea that sets them apart from the rest. Take David, for example. David wasn’t content with just sending his resume through email or dropping it in the mailbox. No, he had something much more creative in mind. David decided to deliver his resume along with a pizza to the company’s office.

Dropping Resume With Pizza Delivery Gets Applicant Noticed

It was a thoughtful gesture, a slice of appreciation for the team at Antimetal, a New York-based startup. The CEO of Antimetal, Matthew Parkhurst, couldn’t help but be impressed by David’s unconventional approach. He shared the story on X (previously known as Twitter), recounting how David had not only delivered pizza but also made a small contribution to the company by fixing some links in their documentation. It was a gesture that spoke volumes about David’s initiative and willingness to go the extra mile.

In his neatly written job application, David expressed his excitement for the opportunity and his eagerness to contribute to Antimetal’s success. The pizza, he joked, was “basically a bribe” to entice the hiring team to check out his work by visiting his website.

Matthew Parkhurst was so impressed by David’s ingenuity that he declared, without hesitation, that David would be “100% getting an interview.” And with that, David had accomplished what many others could only dream of: he had not only captured the attention of the hiring team but had also secured himself a chance to prove his worth.
