Booking rail tickets during the festive season is super difficult. The ones who have tried might be knowing it pretty well. It is not possible to always book tickets well in advance. In view of this situation, the Indian Railways has always come up with special trains or increased the frequency. In addition to this, it has now announced that the passengers will be allowed to travel even without confirmed tickets.

With this new announcement by Indian Railways, you can now easily travel by train even if you do not have confirmed tickets. This is only possible if you have purchased the ticket from the ticket window and your ticket is under waiting list. You must obtain the TT-created ticket after purchasing the one from the counter. This service will not be available for passengers who have booked their tickets online. You cannot board the train if your tickets are booked online and are not under confirmed status. Indian Railways has also announced special trains for Chhath and Diwali. About 179 special trains will be introduced for the festive season. There are also plans in the pipeline to introduce more special trains for the holiday season.

Book Tatkal Tickets
Another alternative for booking tickets is using the new authorised tatkal booking app by Indian Railways, Quick Tatkal.
