It is time to celebrate festivals with your family and friends. If you are travelling home this festive season, here are some of the special transport services that you can avail of. They include everything from Dasara special trains to BMTC buses!
6 Transport Services To Avail Of This Festive Season!
1. SWR To Operate 34 Special Trains
South Western Railway (SWR) will operate 34 special trains and offer 54 trips linking several significant cities. During the Dasara holiday season, this includes Mysore, Bengaluru, Belagavi, Dharwad, Hubballi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Chamarajanagar, Mangaluru, and adjacent states to remove additional rush. According to SWR, these special trains are running on well-travelled corridors connecting the nation’s major cities and tourism hotspots.
2. Dasara Special Train To Extend Till Belagavi
The Dasara festival special train will now run to Belagavi, according to South Western Railway. The operation of these trains between Mysore and Dharwad was already announced. Starting on October 22 and 24, Train No. 06205 will make two runs from Mysore to Belagavi. It will leave Mysuru at 10.35 pm and arrive in Belagavi the following morning at 10.45 am. Beginning on October 23 and 25, Train No. 06206 will make two runs from Belagavi to Mysore.
3. From Oct 23, There Will Be More Train Services From Chennai And Santragachi
Special trains will run during Dasara to help with the spike in the number of travellers. The routes will be SMV Bengaluru-Santragachi, SMV Bengaluru-New Bhubaneswar Station via Visakhapatnam, Chennai Central-Bhubaneswar-Chennai Central, Chennai Central-Santragachi-Chennai Central, and SMV Bengaluru-Santragachi. Beginning on October 23, the trains will run on various days. More information is available at the train stations or on the railroads’ social media pages.
4. 13 Special Trains & 150 APSRTC Buses From Vishakapatnam
Since the start of the Dasara celebration, the Indian Railways and the Public Transport Department (formerly APSRTC) have run 13 pairs of special trains and 150 special buses every day from Visakhapatnam to accommodate the increased volume of travellers at the city’s bus and railway facilities. The majority of immigrants who choose the customised services are from nearby areas in the northern coastal region of Andhra Pradesh.
According to APSRTC Deputy Chief Traffic Manager, on Saturday, they ran 150 extra special services out of this location’s bus station in Dwarakanagar. In addition to the same amount of standard services, this is offered. To ease the festive rush, at least 100 special buses were run towards the Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts, and 50 additional special services were run towards Rajamahendravaram.
5. Special One Way From SMVT Bengaluru To Vasco da Gama
To accommodate the huge demand for passengers during Dasara, the South Western Railway (SWR) would operate a special one-way train between SMVT Bengaluru and Vasco da Gama. On October 20, at 5.30 pm, train number 07357 will depart from SMVT Bengaluru and arrive at Vasco da Gama at 9.30 am the following day. On October 24, at 2:30 pm, train number 07358 will leave from Vasco da Gama and arrive at SMVT Bengaluru at 5:00 am the following day.
6. Indian Railways Planned 283 Festival Special Trains
For Diwali and Chhath Puja, Indian Railways has planned 283 festival special trains. The special trains would travel 4,480 miles throughout the course of the festive season, according to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The Eastern Central Railway will run 42 trains with a maximum of 512 trips, and the Western Railway will run 36 trains with a maximum of 1,262 journeys throughout the festival season, according to Indian Railways.
7. BMTC To Operate 500 Buses
This Dasara season, more people are returning to their hometowns, hence the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has been asked to operate 500 buses outside of Bengaluru by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). According to BMTC, they have been asked by KSRTC to run buses from October 21 to 24. People travel back to their hometowns to observe Ayudha Puja and celebrate Vijayadasami during this time. They would run 500 buses on a staggered schedule over the weekend depending on demand.
