Avani Sharma Brings Karada Cuisine To Watson’s Cantina

Scheduled to take place on 31st May 2026 at 12:45 PM, the afternoon brings together culture and a curated vegetarian dining experience inspired by the Karada region. Originating in Maharashtrian heritage and influenced by the coastal cultures of Kasargod and Mangalore, Karada cuisine honours seasonal ingredients, coconut-forward flavours, and soulful home-style cooking traditions.

Known for her participation on MasterChef India, Avani Sharma is known for bringing back lesser-known regional cuisines through creative and immersive dining experiences. She is a visual artist and culinary storyteller from Bangalore, and she skilfully blends food with emotion and memory. With her culinary pop-ups and curated menus, Avani hopes to spotlight forgotten Indian food traditions and introduce guests to nostalgic flavours. Her style focuses not just on taste but also on the stories, rituals, and nostalgia attached to every meal.

Karada cuisine is a traditional coastal cuisine connected with the Karada Brahmin community, mostly found in parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kasargod, and Mangalore.
