UAE Citizens, Residents Can Travel Abroad For Leisure

On 1 July, UAE authorities outlined procedures for people wishing to leave the country. Residents traveling abroad must apply for a permit from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. Besides they must also adhere to all the rules and regulations in the destination country.

Rules For UAE Residents & Citizens Traveling Abroad This Summer

All residents and citizens traveling out of the UAE must apply for a permit from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship. Permission will be granted or denied depending on the risk level of the country and the purpose of the journey. Those traveling for medical treatments, studies, business trips, diplomatic missions, humanitarian reasons and those who want to return to their home countries will be granted permission. However, there was no mention about residents traveling for leisure and tourism.

Travel Documents For Applicants

All those applying for the permits must pay AED 50 as well as submit a set of travel documents. Application must be filed through the Federal Identity and Citizenship Authority website well before departure. People with chronic illnesses and those over the age of 70 are discouraged from travelling unless the trip is for medical treatment. Further, all travellers must take a PCR Covid-19 test within 48 hours of leaving the UAE and present a medical certificate to prove they are clear of the virus before boarding.

In addition, travellers must also fill a health status form at the airport or on their airline’s website.

Documents Needed: Copy of ID card, residency and passport, a copy of the medical committee’s approval.

On July 3 the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority announced that citizens and residents can travel abroad for leisure and tourism, provided they adhere to certain rules and regulations. Know The Pandemic Rules Of The Destination Country

All travellers must meet the health protocols currently enforced in the destination country. These include public health, quarantine, and self-monitoring as well as being fully aware of precautions. Passengers must check the requirements for the destination country prior to travel. UAE’s national and international carriers will operate in certain destinations on the basis health and safety criteria.

Compulsory Requirements For All UAE Residents & Citizens

– All residents and citizens must register with Twajudi service prior to travel

– All travellers must undergo Covid-19 testing before travel- pertaining to the timelines provided by the destination country. This may also mean a recent result not exceeding 48 hours from the date of travel.

– The test result must be submitted to the destination country via Al Hosn application or through other processes that prove that the passenger is free of the virus.

-Travel will only be permitted for passengers who test negative. In addition, all travellers must have international health insurance that is valid throughout the period of travel, and covers the desired destination.

– Prior to arrival in the UAE, passengers must ensure there is no violation of the declared regulations and procedures.
