UAE May Lift Ban On Indian Travellers By July End

To curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus, several countries including the UAE had banned Indian travellers. And now after months of the travel ban, UAE might lift the travel ban on Indian travellers by end of July. On this, the Indian consul general in Dubai Aman Puri said that the authorities are discussing lifting the travel ban for Indians. He furthermore said the restrictions would be lifted in a phased manner.

Once the ban is lifted those with resident visas will get first priority. In fact, if things fall in place, UAE might open for Indian travellers fully by October 1 for Dubai EXPO.

Earlier Bans

To curb the spread of the Indian variant, UAE had decided to extend the ban. In a circular, Emirates Airline informed the travel agents that the suspension would be in place till May 14. The airline also confirmed the same by responding to passengers on Twitter.

Many travel agents in the UAE have received the circular stating the extension of the ban. While the embargo on the arrivals of Indian passengers is highly affected, cargo flights between the two countries are not affected.

People Exempted From This Ban Have To Undergo 10-Day Quarantine 

Besides this, UAE nationals and diplomatic missions between the two countries, official delegations, businessmen’s planes and Golden Visa holders are exempted from this decision. And exempted people travelling to UAE have to mandatory undergo a 10-day quarantine. Furthermore, they have to take PCR tests for Covid on the fourth and eighth days of entry.

When it comes to India, over 40 countries, including the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, have pledged to support and stand with India in this time of distress. India is now contributing 38 per cent of covid cases globally.
Daily deaths have nearly tripled in the past three weeks, reflecting the intensity of the latest surge. We hope that the new strain stops mutating as soon as possible.
