UAE Mourns The Demise Of Bahrain Prime Minister Khalifa Bin Salman

Bahrain’s Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman dies at the royal palace at the age of 84. The Royal Court mourns the demise of his Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman, the Prime Minister, who passed at the Mayo Clinic.

Late Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Was The Longest-Serving Head Of Government In The World

A week of mourning with flags flown at half-staff and the closure of government departments for three days from Thursday was announced by King Hamad bin Isa. For the late, Prince Khalifa, he served the country as Prime Minister since 1971, making him the longest-serving head of government in the world.

Prince Khalifa was regarded as representing a more traditionalist idea of the rule. Speaking about this rule and reminiscing his work, the UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Anwar Gargash, described him as a “man of solid principles and attitudes”. He tweeted,

“The late, great Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa is a historical stature whose name was associated with the modern development of Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf. He is a man of solid principles and attitudes. And a model of the historical men who contributed to crystallising the modern Gulf.”

Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Has Been Appointed As The New Prime Minister Of Bahrain 

For the prime minister of Bahrain, King Hamad has appointed Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad as Prime Minister. He is the eldest son of King Hamad and served as deputy prime minister for seven years.

“His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today issued Royal Order 44 of 2020 assigning His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, to chair the Council of Ministers,” Bahrain News Agency said.
