UP’s Raya Town To Be Developed Into A Heritage City To Promote Tourism

The small town of Raya in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura will be developed into a Heritage City by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida). By developing this city, Yeida aims to promote tourism and also create new opportunities. The upcoming heritage city will cover an area of over 9,000 hectares along the Yamuna Expressway. It will also include beautification of the Yamuna riverfront. The authority plans to develop the rest of the land for industrial, commercial, residential and mixed land use purposes. DPR Of The Heritage City Likely To Be Ready By May 2021

Raya is a small town and a nagar panchayat in UP’s Mathura district. Yeida will develop this town as a Heritage City. As per sources, the detailed project report ( DPR) of the Heritage City is likely to be ready by May 2021. Yeida has selected CBRE South Asia as the consultant for the preparation of the DPR. According to a Hindustan Times report, Arun Vir Singh, chief executive officer, Yeida., said, “CBRE has started work on Heritage City DPR. Once the consultant submits its report on this ambitious project, we will take further action after due consultation with the UP government. CBRE has been given three months to submit DPR.” Singh added, “We are yet to open their bids and finalise an agency that will start work on DPR of the logistics hub.” Meanwhile, Mathura will get the tallest religious monument in the world by 2022.

The Heritage City Will Include Beautification Of The Yamuna Riverfront

The Heritage City project will include beautification of the Yamuna riverfront on the lines of the Gomti river front project. The rest of the land will be developed for industrial, commercial, residential and mixed land use purposes. Also, the Uttar Pradesh government is renovating public gardens in Mathura like the Jawahar Bagh with gym and picnic facilities.
