US Emerges As Top Study Destination For Indians, 82,000 Student Visas Granted

The US Embassy in Delhi informed that it has issued about 82,000 student visas to Indians this year which is higher than any other country. This shows that Indian tops for sending students to US Colleges and universities. They had last year issued a record breaking 62,000 student visas to Indians and this year 82,000 between May and June. Nearly 20% of all overseas students in the US are Indian students.

The US Embassy this year issued about 82,000 visas to Indian students which is a record breaking number. Patricia Lacina, Charge d’Affaires highlighted the presence of the Indian diaspora stating that 20% students in the US are Indians. She also said that the number is sure to increase next year. The numbers showed that the United States is the most sought after destination for higher studies forIndian students. According to her, the innovations made possible by the talented Indian population in America would increase opportunities and job opportunities for both nations. In the end, both India and the USA will experience more security and prosperity.

Prioritising The Visa Process

In the months of May to August, priority was given to the processing of student visas by the US Embassy in New Delhi and its four consulates in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai. This was done in order to guarantee that the greatest number of qualifying students could enroll in their programmes of study in time for the previously planned dates. Patricia said that the number speaks about being an amazing rebound after the world faced pandemic. He also expressed happiness for the students who could get visas and enter their desired universities.
