Due to the mounting number of COVID cases, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to extend the lockdown till May 10. However, the government has now mandated an e-pass to travel both intra-district and inter-district travel. Even the essential services personnel will be allowed to move freely once they have the pass.
Essential Services Personnel Will Also Need An E-Pass
People who are working in industries, engaged in medical supplies, e-commerce operations, medical emergencies, as well as print and electronic media can apply for the e-pass. The e-pass will be valid during the lockdown and you will just have to fill out an online application to get it. The Uttar Pradesh government has a new section under the official website where you can apply for the e-pass.

Steps To Apply For The E-Pass
1.Visit the Uttar Pradesh government website.
2.Click on Apply for ePass. Enter your phone number to generate an OTP.
3. As soon as you type in the OTP, you will be taken to the e-pass application form.
4. Enter your details like your name, address, telephone number, district, pass area, ID proof, photo, and vehicle type.
5. For ID proof, you can use any government-issued ID, including PAN/ Voter/ Aadhar Card/ Licence. Be sure that the size of the soft copy should not be more than 200KB.
6.Click on the checkbox asking for your acknowledgment.
7. Hit the ‘submit’ button to get an e-pass.

Please note that the decision of extending the restrictions further will be taken by the government on May 9. Also, those with vaccination appointments can move around freely during the lockdown.
