In order to curb the spread of coronavirus cases in India and prevent the chance of a third wave, the Uttarakhand government has extended the COVID-19 curfew till September 7, 2021. Also, Uttarakhand will allow only 15,000 tourists on weekends in its most popular hill station Mussoorie. Uttarakhand’s Nainital district has confirmed three cases of ‘AY 2’ Delta Plus coronavirus variant this week. On August 30, the Pauri Garhwal district has reported the first case of the sub-variant.

According to ANI, Dehradun District Magistrate R Rajesh Kumar said, “Only 15,000 people can visit Mussoorie during weekends. It is mandatory for the visitors to carry RT-PCR negative report, not older than 72 hours.” People entering Uttarakhand from other states must carry a certificate of full vaccination or negative RT-PCR report not older than 72 hours.

RT-PCR Test Report Mandatory For Entering High Himalayan Valleys In Uttarakhand
COVID-19 variants are emerging in India and the virus has not spared the north Indian mountain state, Uttarakhand. Districts in Uttarakhand like Nainital, Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar had been adversely affected by the virus during the second wave. Dehradun has mandated registration on Smart City Portal for tourists, devotees and coming from outside Uttarakhand. They will only be permitted inside the hill station after registering on Smart City Portal. Apart from this, they also have to show a negative RT-PCR Test not older than 72 hours. People returning to Uttarakhand must undergo a 7-day quarantine.

Earlier, The State Had Mandated Covid Negative Report For Char Dham Yatra
Uttarakhand had mandated a negative RT-PCR test report for all Char Dham pilgrims from outside the state. State Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj had announced that all pilgrims entering Haridwar for Char Dham Yatra or Maha Kumbh must follow all Covid guidelines. They had to undertake CBNAAT, TrueNaT or RT-PCR tests before entering Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra.
