With the beginning of the festivals in the month of October, we can already feel a slight change in the weather. The temperature is slowly decreasing in most parts of India and this is nature’s way of announcing the onset of the winter season. This also signifies the beginning of the peak winter holiday season. Before the peak time kicks in, the famous Corbett Tiger Reserve has opened its doors to visitors.

To all the wildlife enthusiasts out there, here’s an exciting announcement for you all. The Corbett Tiger Reserve has opened for one and all and visitors from all around are visiting there and witnessing the grandeur of the place. Right after opening the doors of the reserve, a great number of people started rushing to the Corbett Tiger Reserve. This also marks the beginning of the winter tourism season at the Corbett Tiger Reserve.

Diganth Nayak is the Deputy Director of the tiger reserve in Uttarakhand. He shared that almost 400 people visited the destination, according to a report by The Times of India – IndiaTimes. He talked about how this marks the beginning of the peak winter holiday season there.

Back in the year 1973, the renowned Project Tiger was launched in Uttarakhand’s Jim Corbett National Park. This falls under the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Jim Corbett National Park is the first national park in India and it was established back in the year 1936. This was started with the key purpose of saving the endangered Bengal tiger. The name was Hailey National Park back then.

These Zones In The Reserve Are Open Now For Visitors

If you visit the Tiger Reserve in the next few days, you will be able to explore these 4 zones inside:

  • Bijrani
  • Dhela
  • Garjia
  • Jhirna

As of now, only these zones are open to be explored by visitors. The officials of the Corbett Tiger Reserve shared that the other 4 zones are going to be open for visitors in the upcoming month, as stated in The Times of India – IndiaTimes report.

  • Dhikala
  • Durga Devi
  • Pakhro
  • Sonanadi

These zones are going to open to enjoy day safaris. Also, tourists can spend nights at the forest rest houses of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Staying at these places is set to begin on November 15, 2023, and tourists have started booking the options as well.
