We have all grown up watching some or the other South Indian movie, haven’t we? They have a different charm to them that feels refreshing after a consistent dose of the same old Bollywood content. Especially after the massive success of Bahubali, all those who dared to diminish the potential of the South Indian film industry were shut. From that same iconic blockbuster that shattered all records, Rana Daggubati joined our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, in this episode of Sunday Brunch. But that is not all! The OG hero of the Daggubati family and Rana’s uncle, Venkatesh Daggubati, also charmed us with his presence. It was a one-of-a-kind episode and you must watch it right now!

Venkatesh and Rana Share Their Favourite Hyderabadi Dishes

The conversation started with their relationship with Mumbai. Simply put, their terms with the city are somewhat professional because they visit here for work. They agree to the city’s incomparable charm but for them Hyderabad is home.

Sooner or later, the conversation had to turn to food. We are all aware of the delicacies in Hyderabad. If nothing else, their biryani is iconic. When asked to elaborate on the cuisine in Hyderabad, both Venkatesh and Rana described it as being spicy, rich and heavy. When asked to list their favourite dishes, Venkatesh started with the classic, the biryani. They also mentioned kebabs and haleem in their list of favourite dishes in Hyderabad.

Further, Rana explained the versatility of cuisines in Hyderabad. Along with the classics, it also offers delicacies from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He termed Hyderabad to be a ‘melting pot of different Indian cuisines’. Rightly said, isn’t it?

After realizing their intense love for food, it was time to know what their Sunday Brunches at home looked like. Both Venkatesh and Rana specified that their meals usually include traditional Andhra and Telugu dishes like Natu Kodi, Rice and Pulusu. They are also quite fond of Andhra-style lamb chops. That sounds like an indulgent spread, doesn’t it? Rana also shared that their Sunday Brunch meals are pretty hardcore and we agree.
