Vikas Khanna’s Tear-Jerking Post Crediting His Mom For His 40 Glorious Years As Chef Is Winning Hearts

Vikas Khanna is a world-renowned chef who has curated menus for world leaders, won a Michelin star and has a restaurant in New York which gets sold out in seconds. But what’s the secret ingredient behind his success? It is his mother Bindu Khanna’s blessings and his late sister Radhika Khanna’s pearls of wisdom. Recently Chef Vikas took to his Instagram handle to share a heartfelt tribute to his mother who has been his pillar of support throughout his culinary journey.

Vikas Khanna Shares Heartfelt Post For His Maa Bindu Khanna

Sharing a picture of him warmly embracing his mother, he recollected some of the darkest days of his life when he first ventured into entrepreneurship with his first restaurant Lawrence Garden in Amritsar. The Chef opened this humble restaurant on December 2, 1990. It was a catering company that prepared and delivered food at kitty parties, birthday parties, exhibitions and conferences.

A restaurant started with his mother, Vikas attributed his training and experience at Lawrence Garden to shaping his journey as an artist, a chef and an entrepreneur. The roads led him to Bungalow, his stupendously performing restaurant in New York City today. But when he started Lawrence Garden, he faced numerous challenges. It was tough running a business in the back of his house.

In his Instagram post, he remembered watching his mother cleaning the clogged sewage of their humble Amristar eatery. And it broke his heart. But Bindu would always smile warmly and tell him that it was their place, their duty and their pride. Vikas stated that guests were often rude to her and yet he responded with grace and gratitude.

He Remembered Selling Chole-Bhature With His Mom In Amritsar

Now, on witnessing serpentine queues outside Bungalow every evening at 5 pm, he has realised that it is all because of her sacrifices, training and grace. His heartfelt post thanks his mother for holding him on his darkest days and urging him to stay strong. Many a time, she would fly to New York in a blink of an eye, if she felt he was breaking or losing the battles he encountered in life.
