India is the most populated country in the world. One doesn’t need a survey to know it. Simply travel in any public transport and you’ll see how populated India really is. Recently, a video went viral on social media which showed that a train from Charbagh Station in Lucknow was so overcrowded that a few passengers were forced to travel in the washroom! Yes! You read that right! Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this incident.

According to an article which was recently published by India Today, the train was at the Charbagh Station in Lucknow. The video showed that the train was entirely packed with people. As a matter of fact, space in the train was so scarce that people were forced to travel inside the toilet!
I am angry as in many trains Sleeper class reduced to 2, & rest converted to 2/3 tier AC which is against poor & middle class.@AshwiniVaishnaw example: Mumbai Hyd express / Hussainsagar ex.

This sparked a lot of backlash online and many people were angry. This is also because such an incident has now become a norm rather than being an outlier. Many even grimly speculated that in future, it is possible that Vande Bharat trains would also look like this.
The minister in charge… will you travel this way sir ?

Many Netizens urged the concerned authorities to take action against such overcrowding. This is also dangerous because then, the access to washrooms for the rest of the passengers is blocked. It makes travel inconvenient for all involved!

As mentioned above, such an incident has now become a norm. Another user shared a video on X (formerly known as Twitter), which showed that such crowding also happens in compartments which are only for reserved and ticketed passengers!
The video showed the long hallway was chock full of people and the caption said that access to the washroom had also been cut off because of that.
